Our Story
The MTN8 features the top eight finishers from the previous season’s Premiership. While the quarter-finals are one-off matches, the semi-finals are played over two legs, and the final is a one-off match.
Mamelodi Sundowns have won the competition four times in total, placing them third on the all-time list. Their four victories came in 1988, 1990, 2007, and 2021. Their 2021 win ended a 14-year wait for the trophy under its current MTN branding.
