Brazilians Determined to Sharpen Up Ahead of Fort Hare Clash

Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies return to action this Sunday when they travel to Davidson Stadium in Alice to face University of Fort Hare Football Club in the Hollywoodbets Super League.

Banyana Ba Style head into the fixture on the back of a dominant 1–0 victory over the University of Cape Town last time out, thanks to a decisive strike from Refilwe Tholakele. That result extended Sundowns’ impressive record this season to 13 wins and 2 draws from 17 matches.

Youngster Jabulile Mbatha revealed that the mood in camp has taken on a more focused and intense tone than usual. “There is a heightened sense of seriousness among us because we know the importance of every match this season. Midfielder Khunjulwa Mali highlighted that the side has turned that seriousness into a positive drive on the training ground. “The mood is high and we are ready to give our best performance. United we are, and the team spirit, positive attitude, and encouragement are helping us a lot. For us as young players, this kind of challenge teaches us how to react to difficult results and be ready for the next encounter. We want to bring good results for the team and continue our momentum,” she explained.

Mali also emphasized that the technical team has placed a strong focus on improving key areas on the pitch. “We are sharpening our final-third entries and making sure we occupy the box effectively so that we can score more goals. At the same time, the coach is ensuring that our defensive organization remains solid. In midfield, we are working hard to play more penetrating forward passes to create chances. All these details will help us perform at our highest level.”

The game between Sundowns Ladies and University of Fort Hare will take place this Sunday at Davidson Stadium in Alice, with kickoff scheduled for 15:00. The match will be broadcast live on SABC 1.
