Masandawana Return to League Action Following International Break

Mamelodi Sundowns will be back on the touchline when they host Magesi FC in their return fixture on Sunday afternoon at the Lucas Moripe Stadium.

While some of their teammates were off to represent their respective countries at the FIFA World Cup Qualifiers, the remaining team worked hard in preparing for their earlier reverse fixture against the Polokwane-based side.

The last time the two sides met, Bafana Ba Style were the dominant side as they walked away with all points on offer. Speaking to forward Lebo Mothiba, he reflected on the time the team had to gear up for this encounter and also touched on how the team is looking to achieve the same result at home.

“Meeting Magesi in a short space of time is not a tricky thing for us. We worked really hard during this international break. It’s, in fact, a good thing that we are playing them now because we have already seen how they play,” the 29-year-old stated.

“We are ready to take them on, and we have been working on how we can emerge as the victorious side between the two, so we can record our first league double of the season. We are absolutely ready for Sunday’s game. We all know their style of play is more direct with long balls and big strikers. So, we are prepared for them.”

Mothiba concluded by urging the Yellow Nation to come and support the team on Sunday. He said: “I would like to encourage all our supporters to come out in numbers on Sunday. We need your support and singing as the 13th man to help us win the game.”
