Tashreeq Matthews is a South African midfielder who joined Mamelodi Sundowns in 2024 after establishing himself in European football with Varbergs BoIS and IK Sirius. A product of the Ajax Cape Town and Borussia Dortmund academies, Matthews has developed into an important attacking player for Sundowns. He was part of the side that won the 2026 CAF Champions League, providing the assist for Teboho Mokoena’s equaliser in the second leg of the final. Matthews remains a regular attacking option for Sundowns in the 2026/27 season.
